GlucoTest 75g 200ml Lemon is suitable for highly sensitive patients and pregnant women. The solution is easy to drink directly from a bottle or pour into a glass.
Instructions for use
Do not eat 12 hours before the test. The glucose drink must be drunk within 3-5 minutes.
You must not actively move around, eat, drink or smoke during the test.
Keep at room temperature. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours before use. Drink chilled. Shake before use.

What is Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT)?
This test measures body’s ability to metabolize glucose in patients who are suspected to have diabetes. Basically, diabetes is disorder of metabolism caused by insufficient level or absence of insulin in blood. Most of food we eat is broken down into glucose, the form of sugar in blood. Glucose is the main source of fuel for the body. After food digestion glucose passes into bloodstream where it is used by cells for growth and energy. Insulin must be present to enable glucose getting into cells.
Insulin is a hormone produced by pancreas every time we eat. In people with diabetes however pancreas either produces little or no insulin, or the cells do not respond appropriately to the insulin that is produced. So, glucose level grows up in blood and it overflows into urine.
Three main types of diabetes are:
- Type 1 diabetes or diabetes mellitus
- Type 2 diabetes
- Gestational diabetes
Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) is one of the tools to diagnose diabetes. Test should be carried out by specialized personal early in the morning and after 12 hours fasting. In this condition patient should drink solution containing known amount of glucose in a period no longer than 5 minutes. The patient’s blood is tested before drinking glucose solution and again after 2 hours.
What are GlucoTest glucose drinks?
GlucoTest glucose drinks are concentrated glucose solutions ready to use, supplied in 200 ml PET bottles. Cola, Orange and Lemon flavours are available.
Composition
- GlucoTest Cola: purified water, glucose, citric acid, sodium benzoate, saccharin and cola flavour
- GlucoTest Orange colourless: purified water, glucose, citric acid, sodium benzoate, orange flavour
- GlucoTest Lemon colourless: purified water, glucose, citric acid, sodium benzoate, lemon flavour
Storage and shelf life: can be stored at room temperature (not over 25°C or above 6°C) for 24 months after production.
Instructions of use: keep in refrigerator before usage. Shake gently before usage.
